Planning a day outing in Horana: a simple guide for groups
· 1 min read · The Nature Lovers' Resort
A day outing is the easiest way to enjoy the hill without staying the night. You arrive in the morning, spend the day by the pool and in the garden, and head home before dark.
How the day runs
- After 9:00 am: arrive and check in at reception.
- On arrival: a welcome drink.
- 1:00 to 3:00 pm: buffet lunch in the garden restaurant.
- 4:30 to 5:00 pm: ginger plain tea and a snack.
- 5:00 pm: departure.
Between meals the whole resort is yours: the large infinity pool (167 ft by 50 ft), the ladies' pool and the baby pools, the cricket ground, volleyball, badminton and basketball courts, the children's fun park and the nature trail.
Tips for organisers
- Confirm your numbers early. The kitchen plans the buffet around your guaranteed number of guests.
- Groups of 25 or more get a changing room. Keep the key with you during the day and hand it back at reception when you leave.
- Pack swimwear. A proper swimming costume or swimming kit is required in the pool.
- Leave valuables at home. The resort cannot keep phones or jewellery safe for you.
- Bringing a band? Check with the management first.
Want more food?
You can add extra dishes and desserts to the buffet, and order bites and soft drinks for the afternoon. Everything, with rates, is in the day outing package PDF.
